-the topic view counter (number that states how many times a topic has been viewed) has been changed to not include the original person who created the topic. before when you looked at something you created, it would increase the count, now it will not

Just to make sure I understand this. If I post something. Then get replies, and go back and read them, my reading them doesn't count as the page being seen?

that is correct... it worked like this before.

if I posted something, and hit the refresh button 99 times, it would show 99 times read, and it would not matter what was in the post, as long as BOB created the post, if BOB looks at it, it will not increase count, and I tested this as true thus far

When you click on a link to any post, the VIEWS part increases by one. If you click the refresh button, it would also increase. So if you click on something with 3 views, it would then display 4 to everyone. If you clicked refresh, it would go to 5, and so on. With this new code, if you are the one shown as AUTHOR, then the view count does not increase (unless you are not logged in your account).

well then it isn't TRUELY showing who is looking at a post, I mean if you post something and I see it lots and lots and lots, the number goes up. but if you view it twice, it still says one.

one of the biggest reasons I did this, is that I am the most active and most posting human on here (more so than everyone combined, I believe). many times I post something and I am curious who all looks at it. if I leave things the way they are, if I visit a post 50 times (since I also read more than everyone else, and get more people over here than anyone else) then the read count will have an extra 50 views to it (me) and I do not care if I know I read it, I already KNOW I did. some times I am curious as to who reads board updates, who is checking out my files, and the like.

thus, that was the reason I did it.
